The standard range of production of cylindrical diopters is limited for technological reasons to 6.00 D. An extended range of cylindrical diopters can be produced with the help of traditional technology and professional and experienced staff up to 12.00 D. For this finishing, it is mandatory to consult with the POL optic team.
Optimization is a lens calculation process that determines the thickness of the lens in advance, based on the shape of the lens and frame, prescription strengths, and centering. Optimization calculates the minimum central thickness to which a lens can be machined to obtain a thickness that matches the combination of lens and frame mounting.
